Eligibility for Meritorious Student Scheme
Under this scheme, students who have secured 70 percent or more marks in the 12th examination conducted by the Board of Secondary Education or 85 percent or more marks in the 12th board examination conducted by CBSE/ICSE and are residents of Madhya Pradesh. As well as the annual income of their father/guardian is less than Rs.6 lakh, the tuition fee of such students will be borne by the state government under the Mukhyamantri Medhavi Vidyarthi Yojana on getting admission in the following graduate level education courses.
- For engineering, in case of rank under 1,50,000 (one lakh fifty thousand) in JEE Mains examination, full fees and grant will be received for taking admission in government engineering college / 1.50 lakh or actual for taking admission in non-government engineering college. Tuition fee whichever is less.
- Must have obtained admission in MBBS/BDS course of Central or State Government Medical/Dental College or MBBS course of Private Medical located in Madhya Pradesh through NEET entrance examination for medical studies. Candidates from Government of India Institutions in which admission to MBBS course is obtained on the basis of examination conducted by them will also be eligible.
- For the study of law, through the Common Law Admission Tester (CLAT) or the examination conducted by themselves, they have obtained admission in National Law Universities and Delhi University.
- On getting admission in the courses of graduation program and integrated post-graduation program and dual degree courses (which includes master’s degree as well as bachelor’s degree) conducted in all universities/institutions of the Government of India.
- On getting admission in all the courses conducted in all government and aided colleges/universities of the state government and diploma courses of polytechnic college (in which admission is obtained on the basis of 12th examination).

The Chief Minister has written in a tweet, “The scheme of giving laptops to the meritorious students of Madhya Pradesh is being started again. Under this, meritorious students will get an incentive of Rs 25,000 by the government to buy laptops and will be provided with a citation.
In the next tweet, CM Shivraj Singh wrote, “The benefit of this scheme will be given to those students who have excelled in the 12th main examination conducted by the Madhya Pradesh Board of Secondary Education for the academic session 2019-20. The benefit of Free Laptop Yojana will be given to both regular and self-educated students.
